Pressure vessels and piping equipment are periodically assessed based on guidelines prescribed by documents
such as ASME/API-579 Fitness-for-Service (FFS). The Finite element analysis approach of the assessment resorts to
the design-by-analysis methodology described in ASME BPVC.VIII part 5. As a result, stress analysis is often utilized
for FFS level 3 evaluation of equipment with complex damaged geometries and loading conditions. This seminar
discusses methods for the standard and modeling common pressure vessels using the Finite Element Analysis.
